Our safety program is behavior-based and fully compliant with OSHA and state regulations. All Pluim Environmental management, staff and on-site work force have completed a 40-hour OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) training. We require annual HAZWOPER updates, annual physicals, and medical surveillance programs.
Unique to each project, Pluim Environmental utilizes site-specific Health and Safety Plans (HASP).

The HASP typically address the following areas:

Safety and Health Responsibilities
General Site Safety and Health Rules
Air Monitoring
Chemical Safety
Confined Space Entry
Construction Equipment
Dust Control Program
Trench/Excavation Guidelines
Electrical Safety
Emergency Response, Evacuation, and Contingency Planning
Fire Prevention
First Aid and Heat Stress
Hazard Communication
Hearing Conservation and Noise Control
Hot Work
Lead Operations
Line Breaking
Noise Control
Personal Protective Equipment
Respiratory Protection
Site Security and Site Control
Welding and Cutting Operation

Pluim Environmental uses initial, weekly, and daily health and safety meetings to provide project-specific information to field staff. The field superintendent is responsible for accessing hazards on a daily basis.

Performance is also improved through accident and near-miss investigations so that preventative measures can be taken immediately. Root cause analyses are used to find the underlying cause of a problem. Pluim Environmental employees are expected to work safely without exception.
